Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA: Only 2 months after signing a worldwide distribution agreement for a unique hand-held laser technology, Radiancy, Inc., Orangeburg, NY, launched the Whisper Extended Ablation Laser at the 63rd Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology in New Orleans.
“We’re delighted to introduce this new technology at the annual meeting of the AAD, as the Whisper Extended Ablation Laser allows the physician to provide a unique ultra-fast, true laser peel with outstanding results and no downtime, “ said Fabian Tenenbaum, Vice President Marketing and Sales at Radiancy. “What’s more, the hand-held laser design of the Whisper, results in a cost-effective device; engineered for simple operation, high reliability and low maintenance.”
The new Whisper Laser combines a proprietary fluence level with an extra long pulse width to achieve “Extended Ablation” of the skin. Peeling is spread over 3-5 days, and occurs simultaneously with the reepithelialization process. The result is a noticeable improvement in skin texture, without unduly exposing the underlying dermis.
The precision and minimal residual damage of the Whisper Extended Ablation Laser also speeds reepithelialization, without leaving a demarcation line, so physicians can treat a small problem area or provide a full laser peel with the same results. Since the healing process is subtle, patients can generally use make-up the very next day. Straightforward controls with easy to use settings promote safety and protect against operator error. The large spot size and ultra-fast repetition rate cover a large area in a short treatment session, enabling a full laser facial in less than ten minutes.
